Hello, I would really appreciate any one who can help me out with this, personally i am so disgusted with the government and the way the country is run that i don't know much about politics as i stay away from it for my own stress levels. Two months ago my nephew took his own life, as well as a variety of mental health problems (Which of course also go's uncared for in this country) other reasons he couldn't cope to live in society was that he couldn't get a job (200+ job application attempts) he discovered that to increase his chance of getting a job he would learn to drive so he can get to A to B. After going into approx. 90% of his life savings he managed to take driving lessons and even managed to pass his test. At this point he couldn't get insured because he discovered even if he was in a FULL TIME job he couldn't afford it. Yes he was male and was an adolescent. But he didn't want to drive to show off , have a nice car . Etc. he wanted a car to get to A to B to increase the chances of getting a job. I want to know who is in charge of car insurance etc. (department of transport??) so i can write to them and explain the situation which makes me sick to my stomach thinking about. Everyones aware the government are trying to get young drivers off the road, but to then expect them to find a job even in this tough climate is beyond me. I won't start/sign petitions because evidently from the past they don't really get you anywhere i just want to write to someone to tell them the story of why my nephew took his own life as well as to take out some of my anger on someone. Both my parents and I have gone over me getting a motorcycle instead of a car, and they're fully behind it. As far as my knowledge, insurance costs are a lot less (but more for me since I'm just starting out) monthly payments on it are lower, more MPG, more eco-friendly, less space and I personally prefer it, and use it as year-long transportation since we're moving to Orange County, Calfornia from Las Vegas (where it never snows). My boyfriend is not listed on my insurance because he has a company vehicle that his boss lets him drive. Anyway today he decided to take my car to go pick up our daughter from school. Now here's what I am wondering, I have to call my insurance company tomorrow and notify them that he was driving my car and let them know all the information but I'm unsure what will happen? I can almost guarantee that my insurance will go up but is there any regulations about hitting a parked car within a private parking lot? I know that if she decides to go through the insurance company (which I'm sure she is because she gave all her information to the cop) then I was told I am able to request that she gets 3 quotes from 3 different places so that she doesn't try to stiff me and go for the most expensive. The cop also told me that I have the option to call her and maybe see if she will take cash but I know this teacher and she is one of the worst teachers I have ever met so I highly doubt she will be so accepting of the money. The cop also told us that he went to go view the damage on her vehicle and he said the front number was cracked so it would need to be replaced. He said it's not extensive damage at all but damage nonetheless. What is my best bet in this situation? I am screwed either way? Because I know when I signed up for insurance one of the questions she asked was is there any other licensed drivers in the household and I told her no but my boyfriend is a licensed driver but just doesn't drive my car. He is also not on my lease so I can always say that he just moved in after Christmas which at the time I filled for insurance he wasn't living with me. Back in October we pulled a homeequity line of credit on my doublewide. We had allowed the insurance to lapse since the house was paid off so we had to get new insurance. We could only get insurance on the houses tax value of 53,000.00, despite the appraisal value being 167,000.00. The morgage company would only allow us to get a morgage for 55,000, instead of the 65,000 we were looking for because of the insurance policy. Why can we not get a loan for more then the house because the land itself is worth 30-40,000? I asked the insurance agent and she said that they couldn't insure the land. RAC CAR INSURANCE HELP!?

I purchased car insurance from RAC last year, they then annulled it as said I could not use my no claims bonus on two cars and sent me a new quote. i was in a car accident. the other driver crashed into me & did a hit and run. i was in the car with my g.f . my g.f ended up with back pains & neck pains. i ended up with two broken fingers & a cast in my left hand. in addition i had back pains too. it appears that the driver that hit me was d.u.i and did a hit and run and got caught. after that, the insurance from the driver salvaged my car. just paid me what is was worth 3k. ive been going to therapy for 2 months now with my g.f. i spend about 500-600 in medical bills. i was off work 3 months. im 21 years old and i live in the state of california. i have an attorney working on my case. so how much can i get from the insurance company and my g.f ????

I've been doing some research and have been able to find very little information on this topic. My husband and I got married recently and with our combined incomes, my son would no longer qualify for Medicaid (which had previously been his insurance). My husband asked his employer (who carries Aetna) if he could add his stepson and they told him yes, absolutely, they just needed his birth certificate, SS#, and a copy of our marriage certificate. We provided all these documents, and then they told us we needed to cancel his current insurance and provide proof of cancellation before they could cover him - which seemed strange to me, because I've had Medicaid as secondary insurance in the past, but we complied. We provided them with the letter saying that his coverage would be terminated effective June 1st. Hubby asked HR if everything was in place, and they said yes - as of June 1st, when his Medicaid expired, they would pick up coverage. Then yesterday (June 7th), HR approached my husband and told him that an Aetna representative called them and said that they can NOT cover his stepson unless I, the biological mother, am also on the insurance. This was NEVER mentioned to us previously and they knew he was not planning to add me as well - we never provided any of my documentation or information. I called Aetna and they told me that HR at the place of employment are the ones who determine this policy, and HR is telling us that it's the insurance company. So now my son is completely without coverage when they TOLD us that it would begin on the 1st. I have no interest in switching my insurance - I am covered under my parents' policy and it is very good. I am currently pregnant and I know my OB takes my current insurance and they have already preapproved all prenatal care and the birth. I might have considered switching if absolutely necessary had we known ahead of time, but we didn't, and now his insurance has lapsed as a result. So my question is - in my research, I came accross Obama's Affordable Care Act, which I know is the one that requires insurance companies to cover children until they are 26 and is the same reason that my parents' insurance company covers me. I read a couple different places that this same law also applies to stepchildren. So, under this law, is my husband's insurance required to cover my son?

Does car insurance cover only one car per policy?

Like, if I had many cars, would the policy cover all those cars for one fee or would I have to get insurance for each car? Can I dispute my insurance adjuster's estimate of value of a totaled vehicle?

I have a vehicle which was totaled. Insurer is Progressive. I live in WA, so the adjuster is not allowed to use NADA or KBB to determine value. He's supposed to provide fair market value. He got two estimates, both of which seem very low to me--less than half the replacement cost of a vehicle from the same year in the same condition. I've asked whether I can submit Craigslist listings from my half of the US to prove the value is higher. He says any documentation must be from within 150 miles of my home, which puts me at a disadvantage since I live in a rural area. I'm wondering: 1) Is my insurance company obligated to accept competitive estimates of value in determining my vehicle's value if I can find local shops that determine that the value is higher? 2) What mechanisms are in place to ensure that value estimates made by dealers are accurate, and can a dealer's estimate of value be disputed? 3) What other options do I have if my adjuster refuses to budge on value?

Ok, so in 7 months i am moving out of my moms house and in with my boyfriends family for a year or two.
